Digitalisation is progressively transforming public administration. Within the framework of E-Government, state institutions increasingly use modern information technologies to communicate with citizens and to digitalise analogue processes. The E-Government Development Index illustrates the development of digital administration in UN member states.

33,000 –the number of new mobile phone sites built in Germany over the last ten years. Connectivity and, thus, internet availability has, for a long time, shown large regional discrepancies. The uneven provision of digital infrastructure, especially in sparsely populated areas, made digital participation difficult in certain regions. The nationwide availability of high-performance internet, a declared goal of politics, is just as important as the expansion of mobile phone sites.

Critical infrastructures are fundamental to the stability of society. Their uninterrupted operation is crucial in order to avoid supply bottlenecks. With increasing digitalization and cyber threats, continuous adjustments and security measures are required. To ensure the resilience of these systems, regular assessment and updating of protective measures is essential.
